Supervision for Psychologists & Mental Health Professionals

Clinical supervision for everything that comes with being the person in the therapist chair.

You spend a lot of your working week holding space for your clients

Listening.

Thinking clinically while staying present and compassionate.

Sitting with complexity, uncertainty and the things your clients have trusted you enough to bring into the room.

And then you finish the session, write your notes and move on to the next person.

There aren’t always many places in the week where the focus gets to come back to you.

Particularly when you’re working independently.

A collaborative space to think, reflect and get another perspective on your clinical work

Supervision is for those cases that stay in your head long after you finish for the day.

The moments where you’re questioning your judgement.

For when your workload is feeling less sustainable than you’d like.

Or the times when you just need another psychologist to say, “Yep, that’s a lot.”

Good supervision also makes room for you as the mental health professional.

Looking after your wellbeing is part of doing good work with your clients.

My approach to professional supervision

I’m down-to-earth and collaborative in my clinical work, and I bring the same approach to supervision.

I’m happy to think something through with you, offer another clinical perspective, share what I know and acknowledge when something sits outside my expertise.

There’ll be room to talk about your clients, but also about how you’re going in the work.

I aim to support you to keep doing meaningful clinical work in a way that feels sustainable.

A supervisor who still gets supervision herself

Hi, I’m Jess

I’m a Clinical Psychologist with more than 10 years of experience working across a broad range of presentations, ages and areas of practice.

My clinical work includes child and adolescent psychology, perinatal psychology, eating disorders and longer-standing or more complex difficulties. I’m also a certified Individual Schema Therapist and hold the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential.

But experience doesn’t mean having every answer.

I still seek supervision myself when I’m working in an area where I’d value another clinician’s input or more expertise.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few things you might want to know before getting in touch

As often as you feel you need it! You might need it more often if you have a challenging client you are working with, or if you are feeling burnout and need more support for your wellbeing.

I recommend thinking about your caseload and which cases you would like more support with. It can help to come with a list of names and have their files on hand for background information. You may also want to allocate some time to discuss your wellbeing and how you are managing the client work.

It helps to do some preparation, but don’t feel like you have to overprepare. I sometimes suggest having a “supervision” list that you can add to over your clinical week with questions or cases you would like to discuss. Once you have enough on the list, you can arrange a time with me.

Yes, I accept Clinical Psychology Registrars for supervision towards their board registration. I also accept clinicians who are just wanting to do continuing professional development or get more support for their work.

Payments are due on the day of your appointment. For in-person appointments, payment is made by EFTPOS. For telehealth appointments, I’ll email you an invoice with my bank details so you can make payment via bank transfer.

Your clients get your support. Clinical supervision helps you keep giving it.

Whether there’s a particular case you want to unpack, or you’re looking to make your clinical work more sustainable, I’d love to work with you.
