Christian-friendly Psychologist

Evidence-based psychology that makes space for your faith.

If your faith matters to you, it can be part of the conversation.

For many Christians, faith is one of the ways they make sense of the world.

If it’s something you’d like to include in therapy, I’m happy to incorporate it where it’s helpful.

That might include exploring ideas like grace, forgiveness, hope, identity or self-compassion alongside evidence-based psychological approaches.

If you’d rather faith wasn’t part of our sessions, that’s completely okay too.

Therapy is always guided by your goals.

That said, I'm a psychologist first.

You know your child better than anyone.

While my Christian faith is an important part of who I am, when you come to therapy with me, you’re receiving evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment.

That means our work together is guided by research, clinical experience and what is most appropriate for what you’re experiencing.

I’m not a pastor.

I’m not a biblical counsellor.

And therapy with me isn’t prayer ministry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions I often get from Christian clients.

No. I provide the same evidence-based psychological assessment and therapy that I offer every client. If your Christian faith is important to you, we can incorporate themes such as grace, forgiveness and self-compassion where they’re relevant to your therapy.

No. I don’t pray with clients as part of therapy, and my sessions aren’t prayer ministry. If you’re looking for prayer or prayer ministry, I encourage you to seek that through your local church.

No. I’m working with you in my role as a Clinical Psychologist. If you’re looking for pastoral counselling, theological discussion or prayer ministry, I encourage you to seek that through your pastor, minister or local church.

We can absolutely talk about how your faith relates to what you’re experiencing. However, therapy isn’t the place for in-depth theological discussion. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’d encourage you to have those conversations with your pastor or minister.

Yes. Church trauma, guilt, shame and navigating the relationship between faith and mental health are all things people bring to therapy. There’s space to talk about those experiences without judgement.

Yes. I welcome Christians who identify as gay or trans, and I’m committed to providing a respectful and affirming therapeutic space.

Absolutely. I’m happy to work with people of other faiths. As a Christian myself, I naturally have a deeper understanding of Christianity, and I’ll always take the time to understand the beliefs and values that are important to you.
